  1. I wonder how optimistic Comcast is in pulling subscribers away from Netflix with a service that is only available for Comcast subscribers. There are a good portion of Netflix subscribers that have cut the cord from the pay TV world, and I just don’t see them saying “I can stream with Comcast for $4.99 + the monthly price of cable verses my $7.99 month Netflix charge? Sign me up for cable!” Where Streampix would come in handy would be when potential subscribers are looking for new service in a new area. Since I have been working at DISH I have seen how much value of a large on demand cache is. Subscribers will go nuts over being able to stream more content. When I was looking for more content to stream, I wanted more then just streaming so I went with the Blockbuster @home plan through DISH. Not only does it add thousand of movies and dhow streaming on my computer and television but I have DVD by mail with tons of choices. I want to stream, but I also like movie night with the wife.
