Verizon to activate 16 new 4G LTE markets on September 15th
Verizon Wireless announced on Monday that it will activate its 4G LTE network in sixteen new markets on September 15th. The new markets include Iowa City, Bettendorf and Davenport, Iowa; Fargo, North Dakota; Moorhead, Minnesota; Lima, Cleveland, Canton, Mansfield and the Akron-Canton airport in Ohio; Rockford, Moline, Rock Island, Bloomington/Normal, Champaign/Urbana and Springfield, Illinois. Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network is currently available to more than half of the U.S. population and the carrier says it is on track to cover more than 185 million Americans by the end of this year. Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE coverage will be equal to that of its 3G network by the end of 2013. Read on for a press release detailing Verizon’s Illinois roll-out.
